About Our Church

Our Church History
Third Presbyterian Church began in 1832 as the Union Town Congregation of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. In 1911 the name was changed to Third Presbyterian Church. In 1963 the congregation moved from its location at Beeson and Church Streets to the present house of worship. This church has a long history of religious outreach to the community.

Our Church Purpose
Third Presbyterian Church follows the faith of the Reformed tradition. We exist to glorify God through Bible-centered preaching, teaching, outreach, and service. Our church is committed to prayerfully nurturing the spiritual growth and life-changing faith of each member so that all will be empowered and energized to proclaim and serve Christ in our church, our community and the world with the spiritual gifts God has given us. We welcome all people for worship, Christian education, fellowship, prayer, missions and service.

Our Vision Statement
Our vision is to present Jesus Christ to families and individuals of all ages in creative, credible, and caring ways through ministries that focus on making Christ the center of life and the church the center of the community
